About Abraço do Forró
With this project, I want to create a space to explore Forró with warmth, openness and joy.
Forró is a free dance, open for endless interpretations and possibilities. Combine this with joy and fun – after all, Forró is a social dance – and you get to explore the whole world of music, your body and the interaction with your dance partner! And never forget that the connection between dance partners and the community is built on warmth and respect, so we can have a safe space for everyone and every idea.
About me: Carolina
I am from São Paulo and grew up in Cologne, Germany. As a Teenager I attended ballet classes and played classical music. I first came in contact with Forró in my early 20s through Brazilian parties, and started taking classes in 2019 with Sorriso, one of the pillars of Forró in Cologne. My journey continued with the association Forró de Colônia e. V., where great teachers such as Hana Mossavati and Giselli not only taught me how to dance, but also how to teach Forró. The combination of dance technique, joy, and cultural background is very important to me, so I take inspiration from special teachers (and humans), including Grazi, Ícaro Abreu, Matheus, Felipe Abreu, Mari Brasil, Rafael Wilker, Luiz Henrique and, most importantly, Sheila Santos.
Since 2022, I have been teaching with Forró de Colônia in different cities (Cologne, Bonn, Duisburg). I also joined the project Forró Düss’Bom in Düsseldorf, having lots of fun teaching there with Viktor since 2025. In addition to regular courses, I have been invited to give Forró workshops:

I am happy to be part of Forró de Colônia (FdC), in the past as a member of the board, and continuously as an organizer and teacher. My most recent project was restructuring the Level A course system, with an emphasis on quality, didactics, and overarching concepts beyond a purely step-based approach. I hope to bring fun and technique to more and more Forrozeirxs in the future!
